The Boys A team travelled to play a strong Oakwood team yesterday which included Mr Gowler’s cousin, Josh and Mrs Robertson’s son George. The game was very even early on as both defences were on top, with plenty of endeavour and commitment shown by both sides. This week, we welcomed two new members of the school community to Bowmansgreen. Cotton and Socks (our two newly adopted rabbits) have settled into their new home. Pupils have shown them lots of love and attention and have been helping them to get used to their new surroundings. School Disco – Friday 2nd February

Miss Ditella is running the London Marathon on Sunday 22nd April in aid of the British Heart Foundation. To raise money she will be holding a disco at school on Friday 2nd February. Rec/KS1 5.30pm – 6.30pm KS2 6.45pm – 8.00pm It’s £3.00 per child which includes squash, biscuits & face painting. Glow bands are available for 50p each. All money raised will go towards Miss Ditella’s fundraising for the British Heart Foundation. Please come along and support.

We are very excited to let parents/carers know that we are going to be visited by Team GB athlete Marilyn Okorro on 30th January. Marilyn will be taking workshops with each year group. The workshops will include healthy eating, growth mind-set and a question and answer session. Next week is National Farmhouse Breakfast Week and every morning we will be having activities and encouraging the children to eat a healthy breakfast. Outer Space Workshop

The Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 classes were visited on Thursday by a Little Green Alien from the Planet Saturn. Through a drama workshop they used story-telling, role-play, rhyme, song and movement to take the children on a fascinating improvisation to Outer Space. After completing energetic astronaut training, the children boarded a spaceship (that they made themselves) and visited planets Venus, Mars and Jupiter where they’ll experience and learn about the different physical environments before landing on the Moon and rescuing Planet...
