Headteacher’s Message

Yesterday we held our final curriculum evening of the year which was an opportunity for families to find out about the Design and Technology activities that pupils have been working on this last half-term. It was a fantastic evening and the work on display was amazing! It was great to see so many of you there and the support and feedback has again been really positive and much appreciated.

Last night was also an opportunity for you to meet your child’s new class teacher and we hope that you managed to find them and say ‘hello.’ Miss Wynne, who will be teaching in Y5, was delighted to meet many of you for the first time and she is really looking forward to joining the team in September. There are a few goodbyes to be said next Friday and as there will be no celebration assembly next week, please take the opportunity to say goodbye and wish these members of staff well if you get the chance during the week. Ms Thompson is leaving to train to be an Educational Psychologist; Mrs Trought and Miss Virtue are both relocating out of the area; and Ms Scoot will
say goodbye to 6HS as her final class as she begins a well-earned retirement. I would very much like to thank all three members of staff for their hard-work and commitment to Bowmansgreen and wish them well for the future.

The Bowmansgreen breakfast club is without doubt an asset to our school and part of our provision of which I am very proud. The decision to increase the price at Easter was not taken lightly and was out of necessity to better meet
the running costs. I will be meeting with governors this week to discuss a proposal for a pricing structure from September which I will then relay to parents before Friday.

Please note that end of year school reports will come home with your children on Tuesday. These reports will include the SATS results for pupils in Y2 and Y6.
