Home Learning Grids

The Home Learning Grids for this half of the Summer term have been put on the website here.

Mini Athletics Tournament

This was the first mini athletics tournament that Bowmansgreen have entered. Taking a team of year 3, 4, 5 and 6 boys and girls, the events included sprinting,  throwing (Freddie won the boys throw by about 8 metres) and relays, plus a difficult distance race.
Well done to all the athletes, who looked like they were having fun and there were some great performances.

Girls Kwik Cricket

In a busy week for sport, we had the Girls Kwik Cricket tournament played at the home of St Albans CC, Clarence Park.
After preparing well and working hard over the last week or so, the girls were looking forward to getting out onto the field again.
As it turned out, Bowmansgreen were actually in the stronger group, which included Breachwood Green, Wood End, The Grove and an extremely strong Beechwood Park.
The girls gave it their all but ended up losing all the group games so didn’t qualify for the semi final, and were in the middle of a friendly match against St Adrian’s when the heavens opened and rain stopped play!

Hannah’s fundraising fans!

Remember hearing about how Hannah was able to fund four beds for the homeless by making and selling fans? Here she is with two of her fans. What a fundraising superstar you are, Hannah!

Happy New Year!

Welcome back after the Christmas holidays!

Pupils have returned to school focused and ready to learn.

Monday’s assembly introduced our school value for this half-term: Friendship.
Staff will be looking out for role-models who demonstrate and exemplify good friendship.

Bowmansgreen would like to welcome Miss Chivers who has joined the Year 4 teaching team. We also have a number of new pupils across the school who we are sure will feel happy and valued as part of the Bowmansgreen school community.

Y4 Football Team

What a pleasure it was to watch the Y4 football team play their match this afternoon! Not only did they win their game 4-2 but each and every player gave 100% on the pitch and they played really well as a team. Archie, Max, Harry, Brendon, Lennon, Olivier, Jed and Mikail, you were fantastic – I’m looking forward to the next match!

The Power of One

Thank you to The Power of One Anti-Bullying show for helping Bowmansgreen to mark National Anti-Bullying Week 2018, focusing on the theme ‘Choose Respect.’ The performance delivered some powerful messages about standing up to bullying, through a series of scenarios and discussions.

Year 4 Home Learning

Another week of fantastic home learning from our Year 4 pupils. This week they have been learning about conductors and insulators as well as finding out how to create an electrical circuit.

Headteacher’s blog – 11.11.18

Thank you to everyone who turned out yesterday for our Open Morning. We hope that you enjoyed your visit and were able to get a really good sense of our curriculum, values and ethos and had your questions answered. It was great to see so many new faces as well as existing members of our school community. If you would like to arrange another visit, please do not hesitate to contact the school office to arrange an appointment.
