Headteacher’s Blog

Key Stage One had a great start to their week with their sponsored Daily Mile, helping to raise money for Herts Vision Loss.

Again, we were lucky with the weather and delighted that parents and other family members were able to join us for this event.

Thank you to the families who have already sent in their sponsor money. We are hoping to present the money raised to Herts Vision Loss next week so please send in any outstanding sponsor money by Monday.

The Summer Reading Challenge will take place again this year in libraries across Hertfordshire.  Children can sign up at our local library and then read six library books of their choice to complete the Challenge. It’s FREE to take part and will help keep your children busy and practise their reading skills during the holiday.

This morning, our September 2019 reception children visited Bowmansgreen for their second ‘play and stay.’ Mrs Stanley prepared a tasty breakfast for them and their parents and then they spent time in their new classroom, getting to know the staff who will be working with them in September. They were very well looked after by some of our current reception children who did a fantastic job of making them feel welcome, sharing their equipment and helping them try out new activities and experiences. Children, you really did yourselves proud with how kind, responsible and supportive you were towards the new class.  Thank you to all of the staff, visitors and children who helped to make this morning so successful. I look forward to working closely with our new parents and children in September.

As you know, on Saturday July 13th, the Bowman Music Festival is taking place at Bowmansgreen. With only two weeks to go and to help ensure that FOBS can finalise planning for the event, a deadline of this Sunday evening has been decided for all ticket purchases. Please therefore purchase your tickets via the link below so that numbers can be guaranteed, to avoid the event being cancelled.

Enjoy the weekend weather!
