Bowmansgreen Primary School

PINS Project at Bowmansgreen

This year, we have been very excited to be working on the Partnerships for Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools (PINS) project! This fantastic national initiative is focused on improving outcomes for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in mainstream schools. By fostering collaboration between health professionals, educators, and the invaluable expertise of parents and carers, PINS aims to create a more inclusive environment for all learners. We are keen to see the positive impacts this project will have on our pupils, ultimately ensuring that every child can thrive in an inclusive educational setting.

What it is:

PINS is a national programme funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and supported by the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) and NHS England (NHSE).

Purpose:

The project aims to improve outcomes for children with SEND in mainstream schools by fostering collaboration between health, education, and parent/carer stakeholders.

Key Focus Areas:
  • Early interventions: Providing early interventions at a whole-school level.
  • Upskilling school staff: Supporting school staff in meeting the needs of neurodiverse children.
  • Strengthening partnerships: Fostering stronger partnerships between schools and parent/carer forums.
  • Shaping whole-school SEND provision: Helping schools develop comprehensive approaches to supporting students with SEND.

Mrs Campbell has hosted several Coffee Mornings and Afternoons across the year which has been an excellent opportunity for parents and carers to connect with the school and discuss the needs of their children. Here is the PowerPoint from our latest event:
