Alfie Watts
Make the most of every opportunity you are given at school.
Alfie Watts, a past pupil at Bowmansgreen, left our school just over ten years ago and has since embarked on an extraordinary journey. He made headlines as the winner of Season 4 of BBC's Race Across the World, where he and his friend Owen triumphed by crossing the finish line in Lombok, Indonesia, ahead of their rivals.
Beyond his triumph on the show, Alfie has embraced a role as an ambassador for Winston's Wish, a Gloucester-based charity that supports young individuals coping with loss. He also recently became an ambassador for YoungMinds, the UK's leading charity dedicated to children and young people's mental health. Notably, Alfie travelled to Malaysia as part of his initiative to make football more accessible for underprivileged communities.
In January 2025, Alfie returned to Bowmansgreen to inspire our pupils. He shared thrilling stories from his adventures, highlighting the importance of resilience, a key value of our school, in overcoming challenges. The children were ecstatic to see his name in our Bowmansgreen mosaic, making the moment feel truly special. Now working as a Travel Content Creator, Alfie continues to explore the world and share his incredible adventures with everyone!
