The Christmas season is well and truly open!
This afternoon, the whole school walked down to St Peter’s church to enjoy a Christingle service led by Y6. It was a really lovely occasion and as always, our pupils did the school, their parents and – most importantly – themselves very proud. They sang their hearts out and the narrators and actors were super! Thank you to Mrs Flatt for organising the service and ensuring such polished singing and acting from the pupils. Thank you also to all parents who volunteered and helped to walk pupils down to the church – we could not have done it without you!
Last week, Herts County Council carried out a ‘criteria check’ to see if a school crossing patrol for Bowmansgreen was deemed necessary. The check gave a measure of how busy the site is, and an indicator of the ‘level of road safety risk to the children.’ Regrettably, we have been informed that we did not meet the criteria for HCC to fund a crossing patrol.
Please be reminded that we are not able to allow parents into the school building unaccompanied, for the safety
and protection of all pupils and staff. If parents wish to give messages to teachers, pupils or the school office,
check lost property or look for lunch boxes, staff are always happy to help but may direct you to the office via
the front entrance if they cannot accompany you at that time.
On Tuesday, we are hosting our next parent workshop which will focus on parent wellbeing and information
about support and services in the local community. We have two visitors – Debbie Stewart and Adrian Woods –
who will be leading this workshop which is open to all parents. This is our last-workshop-but-one before the
Christmas break and it would be great to see you there.
Please see the attached letters regarding after-school clubs and the Key Stage One Nativity performance.
The school hall is currently being transformed… I look forward to seeing as many of you at our Winter Wonderland tomorrow as possible. It promises to be a Winter Wonderland – Saturday 11.30 – 3.00 fantastic day!
