The Christmas season is well and truly open! This afternoon, the whole school walked down to St Peter’s church to enjoy a Christingle service led by Y6. It was a really lovely occasion and as always, our pupils did the school, their parents and – most importantly – themselves very proud. They sang their hearts out and the narrators and actors were super!
Thank you to Mrs Flatt for organising the service and ensuring such polished singing and acting from the pupils. Thank you also to all parents who volunteered and helped to walk pupils down to the church – we could not have done it without you!
The Dog's Trust visit with Year 6
Gemma, The Dogs’ Trust Education and Community Officer for Hertfordshire, came to visit Year 6 this week!
Gemma delivered workshops on “Dogs in War”. Year 6 learnt about how owners of pet dogs struggled during the war because of difficulties: food rationing made food for dogs scarce; air raid shelters did not allow dogs inside; and when families were evacuated they had to leave their dog behind.
Year 6 also learned about ways they could help their dogs today, including: having a microchip to help their dog get back home if they are lost; providing a safe place for dogs to go to when they are scared, for example during fireworks.
We are looking forward to welcoming them back in January when they will be coming in to visit KS1.
Breakfast Club News from Mrs Stanley – 01.12.17
At Breakfast Club, the countdown to Christmas has well and truly started! With Christmas arts and crafts as well as ‘Nativity’ the Movie, we are feeling very festive. We all enjoyed bacon, scrambled eggs and beans this morning, to set us up for the day ready for our lovely Christingle.
See you all on Monday at 7.30am.
Music Concert November 2017
Recently, we enjoyed a special celebration assembly which featured a concert performed by pupils who have music lessons with Mrs Street. It was great to see and hear the progress that they have made since their last concert and it is further proof of just how talented they all are. We were all so impressed by the confidence and courage of these children to perform in front of such a large audience and they should all be very proud of themselves.
Thank you to Mrs Street for organising this concert and to parents for supporting your children with their practising and lessons.

Home Learning
This week Ryan (1B) and Bella (1B) produced an amazing Christingle, for their home learning task. It was fantastic to see how they had taken so much care in their learning, particularly in placing the red ribbon around the middle of the orange. Taylor (2TC) and Morgan (2BC) also need to be commended for making a Christingle, in addition to completing their home learning tasks.
We are very proud of their enthusiasm and commitment to their learning.
