Last week was really exciting in Reception. We have begun to learn about our new topic – Dinosaurs. The children spent last week transforming our classroom and watching videos of the volcanic eruption in Spain, to inspire us when creating our own volcanoes.
They have worked together to create a fantastic Dinosaur book corner, complete with different types of dinosaurs and volcanoes. The children spent a long time creating these, painting them and hanging them up. You can find endless dinosaur books in our book corner; stories, non-fiction and magazines. If you look closely, you will see the dinosaurs have slowly started to appear in other places too. Even the playdough and the writing areas haven’t been able to escape the dinosaurs!
Outside, the children have been trying to rescue dinosaurs that have been frozen in ice and have been building dinosaur worlds on the top of our little hill.
We have lots of exciting things planned to keep the children busy, inspired and interested during this topic and we hope that they enjoy it as much as we will.
